Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha has announced a series of immediate steps following the tragic death of Mihirlal Debnath, a truck driver, in Teliamura. A three-member enquiry committee, headed by the Secretary of Revenue (Relief, Rehabilitation and Disaster Management), has been constituted to investigate the incident. The SDM of Teliamura has been suspended with immediate effect. Additionally, show-cause notices have been issued to the District Magistrate & Collector of Khowai and the In-charge of Teliamura Fire Station. To support the grieving family, the Chief Minister declared a financial aid package of ₹6 lakh—₹4 lakh from the Disaster Management Fund and ₹2 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Ministers Tinku Roy and Santana Chakma will visit the deceased’s residence on behalf of the government. Dr. Saha reaffirmed his government's firm commitment to justice and public accountability.
