 Agartala, May 8: The Indian Red Cross Society’s Tripura State Branch celebrated ‘World Red Cross Day 2025’ with a meaningful event and a blood donation camp at its headquarters in Agartala on Wednesday morning. The programme was inaugurated by Tripura Governor and President of the State Red Cross Branch, Shri Indra Sena Reddy Nallu. Commemorating the birth anniversary of Henry Dunant, the founder of the Red Cross Movement and the first Nobel Peace Prize recipient, the event drew enthusiastic participation from students, Red Cross volunteers, NCC cadets, medical personnel, and citizens. In his address, Governor Reddy reflected on the core principles of the Red Cross—humanity, impartiality, neutrality, voluntary service, unity, and universality. “The Red Cross embodies relief and hope. Tripura CM Highlights Role of Saharsh Curriculum in Creating Joyful Learning Environment

Agartala, May 7: In a significant step towards transforming the educational landscape in Tripura, Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday said that the "Saharsh" curriculum aims to offer children a joyful, pressure-free learning experience. The statement was made during the inaugural event of Saharsh Utsav 2025 , held at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhawan in Agartala. Dr. Saha, who also holds the Education portfolio, said the Saharsh curriculum, developed jointly by NCERT and SCERT, is the first of its kind in Northeast India. "This initiative seeks to move beyond textbook-based education by creating an environment where children can learn with happiness and enthusiasm," he stated. “The objective is not merely academic excellence but also emotional and intellectual development,” he noted. Statewide Civil Defence Drill Conducted in Tripura to Test Emergency Preparedness

  Mock exercise held across all eight districts; public urged not to panic Agartala, May 7: In a coordinated effort to assess and enhance emergency preparedness, a large- scale civil defence mock drill was conducted across all eight districts of Tripura at 3: 30 PM on Tuesday. The initiative was part of a nationwide emergency preparedness exercise aimed at testing the effectiveness of disaster response systems in the event of natural disasters, enemy attacks, and other crises. In the capital city of Agartala, the mock drill took place at Umakanta School , under the supervision of the District Administration of West Tripura , in collaboration with various state- level emergency response units.
