Agartala, April 28, 2025: Tension gripped the Belonia Ballamukha area today as Tipra Motha workers and supporters staged protests against the alleged illegal construction of a dam by Bangladesh authorities near the international border. The demonstrators accused Bangladesh of violating the International Boundary Delimitation Act by erecting the structure close to Indian territory. The situation escalated at Bankar Uttar Para, where a large number of Tipra Motha supporters gathered, chanting slogans and demanding immediate action. The local police and Border Security Force (BSF) personnel swiftly arrived to contain the unrest. However, when protesters attempted to march towards the Ballamukha border, clashes erupted between the agitators and security personnel, heightening tensions in the area.
