Four Held in Tripura for Illegal Entry and Drug Possession in Twin Operations

  Agartala, April 29: Tripura Police on Tuesday executed two separate operations resulting in the arrest of four individuals, including three Bangladeshi nationals and one Indian handler, for alleged illegal infiltration and narcotics possession. The first arrest occurred at Agartala Railway Station where GRP detained Jakir Hossain of Dhanpur Bazar. Officer Tapas Das stated that Hossain had been implicated in aiding Bangladeshi nationals’ illegal entry into India. “He was already under watch, and acting on credible leads, we nabbed him,” Das said. Meanwhile, a separate team comprising Jatrapur Police and TSR personnel raided a residence in Baidyanath village near the Sonamura border. The operation led to the arrest of three Bangladeshi nationals — Mainul Islam, Taijul Islam, and Jahirullah — all of whom failed to produce legal documents.
