Agartala, April 29, 2025: As part of the nationwide ‘Save the Constitution Campaign,’ the Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee is actively conducting protests across the state from April 27 to April 30. On Monday, a significant rally was held in front of the Agartala Press Club and proceeded through various streets before culminating at Netaji Chowmuhani.
The rally drew participation from senior Congress leaders, including Sudip Roy Barman, alongside party workers and supporters. Roy Barman urged everyone to uphold discipline and continue their peaceful movement despite growing tensions.
Clashes erupted near the Income Tax building at Netaji Chowmuhani when some protesters allegedly attempted to breach police barricades. In response, police deployed force to control the situation, leading to minor scuffles.
The Congress has accused the current administration of attacking democratic institutions and weakening the spirit of the Constitution. Leaders reiterated that the protest movement will continue with increased intensity in the coming days.
