Community Development and Economic Revival through Ganpati Petrol Pump Reopening

  Agartala, May 25: In a welcome boost to local infrastructure and employment, the long-dormant Delhiwala Petrol Pump at Jaynagar, Jirania, was officially reopened on Sunday under the new name "Ganpati Petrol Pump." This relaunch was made possible under the ownership of Gautam Pal, a local entrepreneur known for his community engagement. The inauguration was graced by Minister for Transport and Tourism, Sushanta Chowdhury, who lit the ceremonial lamp and cut the ribbon, signalling the start of a new chapter for the petrol pump. Dignitaries such as Kalyani Saha Roy, Chief Whip of the State Legislative Assembly; Ranjit Roy Chowdhury, Mandal President; and Ratan Das, Chairperson of Jirania Municipality, also attended the ceremony.   Agartala, May 25, 2025: The "Sundays on Cycle" initiative, organized by the Sports Authority of India (SAI) under the FIT INDIA Movement, saw enthusiastic participation in Agartala today. The event was flagged off by Tripura Governor Shri Indrasenareddy from Ujjayanta Palace at 6:45 AM. In his address, the Governor emphasized cycling’s benefits for cardiovascular health and urged expanding the initiative to villages and schools. Shri Tinku Roy, Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports, highlighted Tripura’s progress in sports infrastructure and the state’s push for a cycling culture. Arjun Awardee gymnast Shri Mantu Debnath praised the event for promoting fitness. Over 150 cyclists, including Assam Rifles personnel and Agartala Cycloholic Foundation members, participated in the 5 km ride to Oxygen Park.
