AICCTU Calls for Nationwide Strike on May 20 to Protect Constitution and Workers’ Rights

  Agartala, May 1, 2025 : On the occasion of International Workers’ Day , the All India Central Council of Trade Unions (AICCTU) , Tripura State Council, organised a State Workers' Convention at the Agartala Press Club, focusing on resisting fascist and imperialist aggression and defending the Constitution and democracy. The convention began by paying homage to the martyrs of the historic May Day of 1886 , who laid down their lives demanding 8 hours of work, 8 hours of rest, and 8 hours of recreation. Bordowli Mandal Organises Silent Protest Against Kashmir Attack

  Agartala, May 2: In response to the recent terror attack in the Pehelgaun area of Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 28 people and injured several others, the Bordowli Mandal, along with its dedicated party workers, took part in a peaceful rally today. The rally was led by Mandal President Shyamal Deb, Leader Kamal Deb, Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumder. CM Manik Saha Highlights Employment Achievements, Urges TET Aspirants to Avoid Protests

  ​ Agartala, April 30: Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha addressed the issue of unemployment and recent protests by Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) aspirants during an event at Nazrul Kalakshetra, where appointment letters were distributed to 228 individuals under the Education Department. He emphasized that demonstrations do not guarantee job creation and highlighted the government's commitment to transparent recruitment processes. ​ During the ceremony, 66 undergraduate teachers and 162 graduate teachers received appointment letters. Dr. Saha noted that the current administration has provided government jobs to 17,554 individuals through direct recruitment, contributing to a significant decline in the state's unemployment rate.
