CM Manik Saha Highlights Employment Achievements, Urges TET Aspirants to Avoid Protests

Agartala, April 30: Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha addressed the issue of unemployment and recent protests by Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) aspirants during an event at Nazrul Kalakshetra, where appointment letters were distributed to 228 individuals under the Education Department. He emphasized that demonstrations do not guarantee job creation and highlighted the government's commitment to transparent recruitment processes.

During the ceremony, 66 undergraduate teachers and 162 graduate teachers received appointment letters. Dr. Saha noted that the current administration has provided government jobs to 17,554 individuals through direct recruitment, contributing to a significant decline in the state's unemployment rate. He stated that employment opportunities have increased rapidly under the government's transparent recruitment policy.

Citing data, the Chief Minister pointed out that in the 2018-19 fiscal year, Tripura's unemployment rate was 10%, compared to the national average of 5.8%. By the 2023-24 fiscal year, the state's unemployment rate had dropped to 1.7%, significantly lower than the national average of 3.2%. He attributed this progress to the government's efforts in creating jobs and employment opportunities.

Dr. Saha also shared additional employment statistics, including the creation of over 5,700 contractual jobs and the recruitment of more than 2,900 individuals as security guards in government and private organizations. Through the Tripura Industrial Development Corporation, over 1,600 workers have been employed in the past three years. Furthermore, three model career centers have been established in Agartala, Dharmanagar, and Kaila under the National Service Project, facilitating job fairs and career opportunities.

The Chief Minister concluded by acknowledging Prime Minister Narendra Modi's focus on addressing unemployment nationwide and reiterated the state government's dedication to fostering employment growth.
