Agartala’s Assam Rifles Ground hosted the state-level celebration of India’s 79th Independence Day. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha hoisted the National Flag, received the Guard of Honour, and reviewed an impressive march-past by various forces. The event was attended by Deputy Speaker Ram Prasad Pal, MLA Mina Rani Sarkar, MP Rajib Bhattacharjee, senior officials, dignitaries, and school and college students. The School Education and Youth Affairs Departments presented vibrant cultural performances, including dance, martial arts, and yoga displays. Dr. Saha also felicitated police officials for distinguished service and awarded winners of the parade competition. In his address, the Chief Minister honoured freedom fighters, highlighted the BJP government’s development over the past seven years, and urged citizens to support the “Vocal for Local” initiative.
