Prof. Arunoday Saha Awarded Padma Shri for Contributions to Literature and Education

Professor Arunoday Saha, a distinguished educationist and former Vice-Chancellor of Tripura University, has been honoured with the Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian award. President Droupadi Murmu presented the award at a special ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday.

Professor Saha received the award in recognition of his exceptional contributions to literature and education. Known for his academic excellence and commitment to research, Professor Saha has played a pivotal role in enriching the educational framework of Tripura and the broader northeastern region. Under his leadership, Tripura University made significant strides in academic and research development. His contributions to literature, combined with his intellectual depth and social awareness, have been widely lauded.



Chief Minister of Tripura, Professor Dr. Manik Saha, congratulated Professor Arunoday Saha on this prestigious achievement. In his message, the Chief Minister described the honour as a matter of immense pride for Tripura, noting Professor Saha’s inspirational influence in the field of education and literature.

The Padma Awards, instituted by the Government of India, celebrate outstanding achievements across diverse fields. Professor Saha’s recognition highlights not only his individual excellence but also the growing prominence of scholars from the northeastern region in the national landscape.
