On the initiative of the Maharajganj Bazar Vegetable Traders Association, a deputation was held today with the Sadar Sub-Divisional Ruler. The subject is that on August 15, The Sadar administration banned plastic carry bags, but the Sadar Mahakuma Ruler did not provide an alternative.

The Maharajganj Bazar Vegetable Traders Association took a significant step towards environmental sustainability by banning plastic carry bags on August 15. This commendable initiative aimed to reduce the detrimental impact of plastic on the environment and promote eco-friendly practices within the community. However, despite their proactive efforts, a crucial issue remains unresolved.

In light of this, a deputation was organized today, involving representatives from the association and the Sadar Sub-Divisional Ruler. The primary concern addressed during this meeting was the absence of a suitable alternative for plastic carry bags, a matter of utmost importance to both the traders and the local residents.

While the ban on plastic bags is undoubtedly a positive step, its effectiveness hinges on the availability of viable alternatives. The absence of such alternatives has caused inconvenience to both traders and consumers, creating an urgent need for intervention from the authorities.

It is essential for the Sadar Mahakuma Ruler to collaborate with the Maharajganj Bazar Vegetable Traders Association to find sustainable solutions that not only eliminate plastic pollution but also ensure the smooth functioning of daily commerce. This partnership will play a pivotal role in fostering a cleaner and more environmentally responsible community, aligning with broader global efforts to combat plastic waste.
