54th National Safety Day and National Safety Week Observed in Agartala



Agartala, March 11: The 54th National Safety Day and National Safety Week were observed on Monday, with a series of programs held at the Udyog Bhawan in Bodhjungnagar. The focus of this year’s observance was on ensuring the safety of workers in factories and promoting awareness about workplace safety. Every year, National Safety Day is celebrated on March 4, followed by National Safety Week from March 4 to March 10, through various initiatives.

This year, the National Safety Week emphasized awareness campaigns and discussions on creating a safe working environment in factories.



 A seminar titled "Role of Management, Workers, and Safety Laws in Ensuring Safe Working Conditions" was held on Monday at the Udyog Bhawan in Bodhjungnagar Industrial Estate. The event was jointly organized by the Factories and Boilers Organisation, Tripura, and the Tripura Industry Owners’ Association.

Speaking at the event, Minister Tinku Roy highlighted the growing number of factories in the state and the increasing interest of entrepreneurs in setting up new industries. He stressed the importance of prioritizing worker safety to ensure a secure and productive work environment.

The program also included safety drills and demonstrations to educate workers and management about best practices in workplace safety. Minister Tinku Roy, along with the Director of the Industries Department, the Chief Engineer of Factories and Boilers, and other officials, were present at the event.




The observance of National Safety Day and Week serves as a reminder of the collective responsibility to create safer workplaces and protect the well-being of workers. The event concluded with a commitment to continue promoting safety awareness and implementing effective measures to prevent accidents in industrial settings.
