New 50-Bed Agartala Civil Hospital to Ease Healthcare Burden


In a significant move to bolster healthcare infrastructure in Agartala, the foundation stone for a new 50-bed Agartala Civil Hospital was laid today near Jackson Gate. This development aims to alleviate the pressure on existing major hospitals in the city, which cater to both local patients and those from other districts ¹.
The new hospital, once completed, will provide multiple services to patients from Agartala and surrounding areas, enhancing the overall healthcare experience. This initiative underscores the government's commitment to improving healthcare facilities and services in the region.
Some of the key hospitals in Agartala include:

- *Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital (GBP)*: One of the two prime referral hospitals in the state capital.
- *Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGM)*: The other major referral hospital, which sees a significant influx of patients daily.
ILS Hospitals Agartala*: A multispecialty hospital offering a range of healthcare services.
Tripura Medical College & Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Memorial Teaching Hospital*: A teaching hospital providing medical education and healthcare services.

These hospitals, along with the upcoming Agartala Civil Hospital, will contribute to a robust healthcare ecosystem in Agartala, benefiting patients from across the region.
