The week-long cultural extravaganza, organized by Agiye Chalo Sangha, was inaugurated by Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor, Dipak Majumder, in a ceremonial lamp-lighting ceremony.

The opening day witnessed a spectacular cultural rally originating from the Agiye Chalo Sangha premises, featuring children in a kaleidoscope of costumes parading through the city streets. "This fair has been a cornerstone of Agartala's cultural calendar for over three decades," remarked Mayor Majumder during the inaugural ceremony. "It continues to serve as a vital platform for nurturing young talent and celebrating the creative spirit of our children."

The event's comprehensive program includes competitions across various disciplines, from visual arts and music to dance and recitation. Each evening, the venue transforms into a showcase of budding talent, with young performers taking the stage to demonstrate their artistic prowess.

According to the organizers, this year's fair has introduced several new competitive categories to accommodate evolving interests among children. The initiative aims to provide broader opportunities for creative expression and skill development.

The Shishu Mela, which has become synonymous with youth cultural development in the region, will conclude with a grand ceremony where outstanding performances and artistic achievements will be recognized through prizes and certificates.

Parents and educators have praised the fair's role in promoting cultural awareness and providing a structured platform for children to explore their talents. "The fair creates a supportive environment where children can build confidence and discover their artistic inclinations," noted a local schoolteacher.
