POLICE NAB TWO IN CITYWIDE BIKE THEFT INVESTIGATION

Agartala, December 28, 2024 - Local police have achieved a breakthrough in a series of bike thefts that plagued the city over the past two months, leading to the arrest of two suspects and the recovery of stolen vehicles.

The arrests came following an intensive investigation led by Officer-in-Charge Rana Chatterjee, who worked closely with the community to gather intelligence. Acting on credible information, law enforcement officials apprehended the suspects near the By Road Area Forest.

The accused have been identified as Shubham Bhattacharjee, a resident of Araliya, and Bishwajit Sinha from Indranagar. During the operation, police recovered two stolen motorcycles - a Pulsar and a Glamour - which had been reported missing in recent weeks.

Officer Chatterjee emphasized the crucial role of public cooperation in cracking the case. "The successful resolution of this case demonstrates the importance of community involvement in law enforcement efforts," he stated. "We appreciate the citizens who came forward with valuable information."

The investigation suggests the possibility of a larger theft ring operating in the area. Police officials indicate that further interrogation of the suspects may reveal additional accomplices and potentially lead to more recoveries.

Both suspects will be presented before the court, where they will face charges related to vehicle theft. The police department has advised motorcycle owners to remain vigilant and implement additional security measures to protect their vehicles.

The case remains under investigation as authorities work to uncover the full extent of the theft operation and recover any remaining stolen vehicles.
