STGT-Qualified Candidates Protest Delayed Recruitment, Demand Immediate Action

A passionate group of State Graduate Teacher (STGT) qualification holders staged a determined protest at Agartala City Centre, bringing attention to their prolonged job awaiting status and mounting frustrations. The candidates, who successfully qualified in the 2022 examination, have been languishing without appointments for over two years, despite critical teaching vacancies across Tripura.

The protesters voiced their deep-seated concerns about the seemingly indefinite delay in their recruitment process. Many emphasized the ironical situation where the state faces a significant teacher shortage, yet qualified candidates remain unemployed. Their demonstration highlighted not just professional uncertainty, but the severe financial strain experienced by these educated job seekers.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha became the focal point of their appeal, with demonstrators urging direct intervention to expedite their recruitment. The candidates revealed that previous attempts to engage with government officials, including multiple efforts to meet the Chief Minister, have been unsuccessful in resolving their predicament.

Their protest underscores a broader educational governance challenge in Tripura. The unresolved recruitment process not only impacts individual career prospects but potentially compromises the quality of education in state schools. The STGT-qualified candidates argue that their immediate appointment could help mitigate the ongoing teaching staff deficit.

The demonstration represents a significant moment of collective advocacy, with candidates demanding transparency, accountability, and swift action from state education authorities. Their message is clear: qualified teachers are ready to serve, and the state must recognize and utilize this valuable human resource.

As the protest continues, all eyes are on the Tripura government to address these legitimate concerns and provide a timely resolution.
