Tripura Prepares Young JUDO Athletes for National School Games 2024-25



The state of Tripura is set to make a significant mark at the upcoming National School Games 2024-25, with a dynamic 16-member delegation showcasing the region's sporting potential. The contingent, carefully selected and meticulously prepared, consists of 14 talented young athletes and 2 experienced coaches, ready to compete across multiple categories and age groups.


The team's journey begins with the Under-19 squad, slated to depart for Punjab on December 8th, representing the state's competitive spirit in boys' and girls' categories. Following closely, the Under-17 girls' team will take center stage from December 12-15 at the NSRCC Indoor Stadium in Agartala, promising to demonstrate the raw talent and determination of Tripura's young sportswomen.

A momentous jersey distribution ceremony at the Dasharath Dev Sports Complex in Badharghat served as a pivotal prelude to the upcoming national competition. Key sports administrators gathered to honor and inspire the young athletes. Director of Youth Affairs and Sports, Sri Satyabarta Nath, led the distinguished panel, which included Gen. Secretary of Tripura Sports School Board  Paimung Mog, Joint Secretary  Apu Roy,  Assistant Director Dhiman Biswas, and Tripura Sports School Principal Smt Bharati Nigom and Head Coach Raj Kumar.

The athletes, ranging from 16 to 19 years old, embody the state's commitment to nurturing young talent. Their participation in the National School Games represents not just a competitive opportunity, but a platform to showcase Tripura's growing prowess in national-level sports.


As the team prepares to represent their state, there's a palpable sense of pride and anticipation. These young athletes carry with them the hopes and dreams of Tripura, ready to compete, learn, and inspire.
