Agartala: Agartala Municipal Corporation Organizes Discussion on International Women’s Day



Agartala: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) organized a special discussion session. The event, held on Thursday at the AMC conference hall, focused on issues such as eradicating child marriage, addressing other social evils, and empowering women.  


The program was attended by AMC Mayor Deepak Majumdar, Deputy Mayor Monica Das Dutta, and all corporators of the Agartala Municipal Corporation. The event began with a felicitation ceremony for the women corporators of the AMC. In his address, Mayor Deepak Majumdar highlighted various projects aimed at the socio-economic development of women.  


The discussion emphasized ensuring the constitutional rights of women and explored ways to strengthen their role in society. Other topics, including women’s education, health, employment, and social security, were also discussed. The session reinforced the commitment to women’s empowerment and their active participation in societal development. This initiative by the AMC marks a significant step toward promoting gender equality and women’s rights.
