Agartala: Police Seize Massive Haul of Yaba Tablets, Arrest Three



Agartala: In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, the West Agartala Police conducted a raid at the residence of Mohammad Babul Mia in Chandinamura and seized a massive quantity of Yaba tablets. Acting on a tip-off, the police, led by the Sadar Subdivision Police Officer and the Officer-in-Charge of West Police Station, recovered over one lakh Yaba tablets, estimated to be worth approximately ₹5 crore in the market.


During the operation, three individuals—Mohammad Babul Mia, Shipon Hossain, and Sanjay Mia—were arrested. The police also confiscated several mobile phones and two motorcycles from the suspects. A case has been registered against the accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, as confirmed by West District Police Superintendent Kiran Kumar.


The police are currently investigating the matter to determine if more individuals are involved in the drug network. This seizure marks a major success in the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region. Authorities have vowed to continue their crackdown on illegal drug trade to ensure public safety and curb the spread of narcotics. Further investigations are underway.
