Two Youths Arrested with Brown Sugar by Kailashahar Police

 



Kailashahar, March 11, 2025: Kailashahar police station officers have arrested two youths in possession of brown sugar during a significant operation. Based on information from a confidential source, police conducted a raid at a checkpoint in the Chinibagan area late at night. The arrested individuals were presented before the Kailashahar court on Wednesday afternoon.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sukanta Sen Chowdhury of Kailashahar police station reported that police positioned themselves at a checkpoint in the Chinibagan area after receiving a tip from a secret informant. At around 2 AM, two youths were approaching on a motorcycle. When police stopped them for inspection, they discovered brown sugar neatly hidden inside five soap boxes. The illegal drugs were seized, and the youths were immediately arrested.

Police further revealed that the estimated market value of the recovered brown sugar is approximately four lakh taka. This significant seizure highlights growing concerns about drug trafficking in the region, particularly the smuggling of brown sugar. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the arrested individuals, and authorities have promised to take appropriate measures according to the law.

OC Sukanta Sen Chowdhury expressed satisfaction with the operation's success, emphasizing the importance of maintaining vigilance and taking swift action against illegal activities. This operation showcases the effectiveness of police intelligence work and ongoing efforts to combat drug-related crimes in the region.

Local sources indicate that trafficking of brown sugar and various other narcotics has increased in this area recently. Special surveillance and operations are being conducted under the direction of the District Police Superintendent. Police officials have assured that they will take action while maintaining confidentiality if the public provides information about such illegal activities.

Police are working to identify the source of these drugs and trafficking routes based on information obtained from the arrested youths. OC Sukanta Sen Chowdhury has stated that such operations will be intensified in the coming days.
