Agartala, May 8: Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha virtually inaugurated the district-level blood donation camp on the second day of the two-day-long programme organised by the Indian Red Cross Society, Tripura State Branch, to mark World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day 2025.

The Red Cross Day serves as a reminder of the principles of neutrality, impartiality, voluntary service, and humanity.Chief Minister Saha acknowledged the vital role played by Red Cross volunteers, especially in addressing health emergencies, helping during natural disasters, and raising awareness against substance abuse. “Their voluntary service keeps the spirit of humanity alive,” he said.
Referring to the district-level initiative, Dr. Saha highlighted how such activities strengthen grassroots participation in the humanitarian mission and inspire the youth to contribute. “The future of our nation rests on active, socially responsible citizens. Red Cross volunteers set an excellent example,” he added.
The CM’s speech served as a motivational address to the volunteers and staff who had assembled virtually from various districts. He expressed his appreciation and encouraged continuous engagement in humanitarian causes.

Cross Movement’s values.
