Dr. Saha emphasised that the government is simultaneously recruiting teachers and developing modern school infrastructure in every district. “Educators are the backbone of a developed society. I urge all teachers to guide students into becoming responsible citizens,” he stated.
Referring to the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) in Tripura, the Chief Minister said it marks a turning point for quality and inclusive education in the state. He noted that the government plans to open more English-medium schools and appoint qualified English teachers.
Addressing concerns raised over the use of Bengali as the medium of instruction in certain English-medium schools, Dr. Saha assured, “Corrective steps will be taken wherever necessary. English-medium schools must maintain their standard.”
He proudly highlighted Tripura’s national-level achievements in the education sector, adding that the state government is determined to further improve academic quality and infrastructure.
Also present at the event, Information and Cultural Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury criticised the previous government, alleging that political interference had hindered the state's educational progress. “Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the able guidance of Dr. Saha, Tripura’s students are now excelling academically, as seen in recent TBSE exam results,” he said.
The inauguration was attended by several MLAs and officials from the School Education Department. The ceremony reflected a festive spirit in the schools, with students expressing enthusiasm and pride over their new learning environments.
This initiative marks yet another milestone in the Tripura government’s roadmap to transform education by focusing on physical infrastructure, teacher empowerment, and policy implementation.
