Prasenjit Paul Accused of Raping Minor Girl

In a shocking incident, a 30-year-old man, Prasenjit Paul, was arrested yesterday for allegedly raping a minor girl in Madhya Dukli. The case was registered at the West Agtali Women’s Police Station on May 19, 2025, under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

According to police sources, the accused was on the run after the incident but was later apprehended by law enforcement. Following due legal procedures, he was produced before the Learned Court, which remanded him to judicial custody. Authorities have assured that a thorough investigation is underway to ensure justice is served.

Local residents expressed outrage over the incident, demanding strict punishment for the accused. Child rights activists have also called for swift legal action to deter such crimes. The police have urged the public to report any suspicious activities to prevent similar offenses.
