Tripura Police Welcomes 975 New Constables in Transparent Recruitment Drive: CM Manik Saha Emphasises Law and Order, Drug-Free State Vision

In a momentous event held at Rabindra Bhavan, the Tripura Government officially handed over appointment letters to 975 newly selected constables in the state police force. This marks a significant step towards reinforcing the law and order mechanism and fulfilling the vision of a drug-free Tripura.
Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, who graced the ceremony along with several cabinet ministers and dignitaries, congratulated the recruits and lauded Tripura Police for serving the state for over 150 years with pride and dedication.
The appointment letters were distributed to 643 male and 332 female candidates in a grand public ceremony, highlighting the government's commitment to transparency and fairness in recruitment. CM Manik Saha explicitly stated that the entire recruitment process was carried out neutrally, with no party influence or bias."Unlike previous governments where recruitment letters were handed out in party offices, our administration conducted the entire process transparently and publicly," Dr. Saha asserted in his speech. "Only those who are truly eligible have received offers today."
Among the dignitaries present at the event were MP Rajib Bhattacharjee, Minister Sudhangshu Das, Minister Sukla Charan Debbarma, Minister Bikas Debbarma, and Minister Sushanta Chowdhury. Senior police officials, including both Director Generals of Police, were also in attendance.
The Chief Minister emphasised that these new appointments would strengthen the functioning of police stations and outposts across the state. "Right now, you are in civilian clothes," he told the new recruits. "But soon, after your training, you'll wear the uniform with pride and serve the state."
Dr. Saha also laid stress on prioritising road safety and issued a stern warning to those involved in drug trafficking and narcotics-related crimes. "There will be no excuse or leniency for drug dealers. We aim to build a drug-free Tripura," he said.
Further, he mentioned that social media content is now under active monitoring. Any harmful, mischievous or misleading content online will be dealt with strictly by the Cyber Crime Branch.The event served not just as a recruitment drive, but as a clear message that the current government stands for integrity, discipline, and public service. The Chief Minister extended his best wishes to the newly recruited constables and expressed hope that they will carry forward the values of the Tripura Police with dedication and honour.
