The event was inaugurated by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, who lit the ceremonial lamp to mark the occasion. In his address, Dr. Saha underscored Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of empowering women by ensuring that all panchayats in the country are led by women. He highlighted that four gram panchayat samitis in Tripura are already entirely managed by women, with the administration directing that all officers assigned to these panchayats should also be women. He proudly announced that Tripura has become the first state in India to implement the e-panchayat system across all levels of the Panchayat Raj structure, calling it a landmark achievement.

The Chief Minister encouraged panchayat workers to continue their efforts, assuring that those not recognized this year could earn awards in the future through dedicated work. He stressed that transparency is the cornerstone of recognition and contributes to the nation’s reputation.

The event concluded with Dr. Saha presenting awards to the honored panchayats. Among the dignitaries present were Panchayat Department Secretary Abhishek Singh and West Tripura District Assistant Chairman Biswajit Shil.
