The Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs (CCPA), under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved caste-based census for the upcoming national headcount. This policy shift underscores the government’s focus on building an inclusive society through targeted and data-driven development strategies. Moving beyond divisive vote-bank politics, the central government aims to empower disadvantaged communities and ensure equal opportunities for all. According to BJP sources, this caste census will act as a vital instrument in achieving the goal of “Antyodaya,” which envisions the rise of the last person in the queue, thereby realising the dream of a just and balanced India.

TBSE Declares Early Results, Girls and South Tripura Lead the Charts

  Agartala, April 30: The Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) released the Secondary and Higher Secondary examination results earlier than usual this year, marking a high-performance trend across the state. Pass Percentages Show Upward Trend A total of 25,673 students passed the Secondary exam (86.53%) and 17,052 cleared the Higher Secondary exam (79.29%). Girls outnumbered boys in both participation and success. District Toppers and Laggards South Tripura ranked highest in Secondary with 92.69% Sepahijala led in Higher Secondary with 87.38% Khowai district recorded the lowest pass percentages in both exams. Four Held in Tripura for Illegal Entry and Drug Possession in Twin Operations

  Agartala, April 29: Tripura Police on Tuesday executed two separate operations resulting in the arrest of four individuals, including three Bangladeshi nationals and one Indian handler, for alleged illegal infiltration and narcotics possession. The first arrest occurred at Agartala Railway Station where GRP detained Jakir Hossain of Dhanpur Bazar. Officer Tapas Das stated that Hossain had been implicated in aiding Bangladeshi nationals’ illegal entry into India. “He was already under watch, and acting on credible leads, we nabbed him,” Das said. Meanwhile, a separate team comprising Jatrapur Police and TSR personnel raided a residence in Baidyanath village near the Sonamura border. The operation led to the arrest of three Bangladeshi nationals — Mainul Islam, Taijul Islam, and Jahirullah — all of whom failed to produce legal documents. Agartala Municipal Corporation Presents ₹72.02 Lakh Deficit Budget for FY 2025–26

  Focus on flood control, healthcare, infrastructure and civic development Agartala, 23 April 2025: The Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) on Wednesday presented a deficit budget of ₹72.02 lakh for the financial year 2025–26. The budget was tabled by Mayor Deepak Majumder during a session held at the Corporation’s conference hall. As per the proposal, the total projected revenue and capital income for 2025–26 is ₹475.83 crore, against an estimated expenditure of ₹476.55 crore, resulting in a deficit of ₹72.02 lakh. In comparison, the 2024–25 budget had an income estimate of ₹415.97 crore and an expenditure estimate of ₹416.74 crore, with a deficit of ₹76.75 lakh. The increase in both income and expenditure has been attributed to the launch of several ambitious development projects.
