Security Tightened Ahead of Bengali New Year Celebrations in Tripura






Agartala, 14 April 2025:

To ensure a peaceful and safe celebration of "Poila Boishakh", the Bengali New Year, the Tripura Police have stepped up security measures across the state. Following the directions of the IGP (Law & Order) and respective district police authorities, multiple naka checkpoints have been established in key locations.

Police personnel are conducting intensive checking of vehicles and individuals as part of precautionary measures. The initiative aims to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward incidents during the festive celebrations on 15th April.

Officials stated that these security checks will continue throughout the night and into the next day. Additional deployment of forces has also been made in busy market areas, near temples, and public gathering spots.

The police have urged citizens to cooperate with the security personnel and report any suspicious activity. The administration is committed to ensuring a joyful and incident-free New Year celebration for all.
