Tripura Government Provides 19,262 Jobs So Far, Says CM Dr. Manik Saha

 



Agartala, May 21: In a significant announcement, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Wednesday declared that the BJP-led state government has successfully provided employment to 19,262 individuals across various departments, including appointments made under the die-in-harness scheme. The Chief Minister made this statement while addressing a job offer distribution ceremony and a mega blood donation camp held at Prajna Bhavan, Agartala.

Dr. Saha stated that the government is proactively filling existing vacancies and creating new posts to boost employment in the state. He informed that under the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, recruitment is currently underway for 12 Sub-Inspectors, 3 Fumigation Assistants, 6 Store Keepers, and 35 Store Guards. At the event, 15 newly appointed Food Inspectors were handed their offer letters.

Congratulating the appointees, Dr. Saha encouraged them to work with dedication and commitment to public service. He took the opportunity to criticise previous administrations, stating, “Job offer letters were once handed out from party offices, but our government ensures complete transparency and merit-based recruitment.”

The Chief Minister also shed light on several other initiatives undertaken by the state government. A process is underway to issue smart ration cards to the public. Under the Ujjwala Yojana, 3,68,800 free LPG connections have been distributed across the state. Additionally, the government has procured 2.25 lakh metric tonnes of paddy from farmers, paying a total of ₹446 crore at the Minimum Support Price.

He also emphasised the benefits being extended under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, ensuring food security for economically weaker sections.

Transport, Food, and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury also spoke at the event, reiterating the government’s commitment to fair recruitment practices. He criticised previous governments for favouring political affiliations over merit and expressed confidence that the current administration’s meritocratic approach would set a new benchmark.

The event also saw the presence of Agartala Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumder, senior bureaucrats, and other dignitaries. A mega blood donation camp was also held on the occasion, jointly organised by the departments of Food, Civil Supplies, Consumer Affairs, Tourism, and Transport. Dr. Saha personally encouraged and appreciated the blood donors.

The CM concluded his address by reaffirming his government’s dedication to generating employment and maintaining transparency in all recruitment processes. The event highlighted the state’s ongoing efforts to boost public welfare through development, empowerment, and inclusive growth.
