License of ‘Happiest Hour’ Bar Cancelled by West Tripura District Administration.

  Agartala, 16 September 2025: The West Tripura district administration has cancelled the license of the popular rooftop restaurant-cum-bar ‘Happiest Hour’ , located atop the UD Bhavan in Agartala. In an official order issued on Tuesday, West Tripura District Excise Collector Dr. Vishal Kumar (IAS) stated that license holder Mr. Gautam Debnath had repeatedly violated provisions of the Excise Act. According to the administration, on 6 September 2025 , liquor was served and consumed at the bar even after 11:00 PM , breaching the license conditions. Unauthorized DJ performances and dance events were also held late into the night, resembling nightclub activities. CCTV footage confirmed these violations. Moreover, the licensee failed to submit the list of employed staff and did not respond to the showcause notice served by the administration, proving deliberate disregard for the rules. ICAR-KVK West Tripura Successfully Conducts Training-cum-Input Distribution Programme on Integrated Organic Duck Farming

  News Report: Agartala, 10th September: ICAR–Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), West Tripura, in collaboration with ICAR–Central Sheep and Wool Research Institute (CSWRI), Avikanagar, Rajasthan, successfully conducted a two-day Training-cum-Input Distribution Programme on Integrated Organic Duck Farming under the NEH component from 8th to 9th September 2025 at Belbari, West Tripura. A total of 40 farmers and farm women benefitted from the initiative. Participants received ducklings, livestock feed, and essential veterinary medicines from ICAR-CSWRI. The programme’s objective was to promote sustainable livelihoods by integrating organic farming practices with duck rearing, ensuring both nutritional security and enhanced farm income for rural households. Temples Close, Superstitions Surface During Total Lunar Eclipse

  While millions enjoyed the celestial spectacle of the total lunar eclipse , religious traditions and superstitions also came to the fore. Major temples including Tirumala’s Lord Venkateswara Temple and shrines in Uttarakhand like Badrinath and Kedarnath closed their doors during the eclipse, observing the “Sutak” period considered inauspicious in Hindu belief. Devotees performed special pujas and rituals before closure. In Haridwar, the Ganga Aarti was conducted in the afternoon instead of the evening. Many households followed age-old customs, with some avoiding food during the eclipse and pregnant women advised not to step outside. Scientists, however, reiterated that a lunar eclipse is purely a natural astronomical event and completely safe to watch.

CM Inspects Renovation of Mata Tripura Sundari Temple, PM Modi Likely to Inaugurate Soon

  7th September 2025. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha visited the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple in Udaipur on Sunday to inspect the renovation works nearing completion under the PRASAD scheme . Officials indicated that around 80% of the work has been completed, with final touches underway. The temple, a revered Shakti Peetha, is expected to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi later this month. Security arrangements were reviewed on Saturday by senior police officials in preparation for the event. Accompanied by Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Matabari MLA Abhishek Deb Roy, and senior government officers, the CM emphasized enhancing greenery and floral plantations around the temple complex to improve its aesthetic appeal. Dr. Saha told reporters, “The exact date of the Prime Minister’s visit is yet to be confirmed. However, we are ensuring that all preparations are in place.”
