World Health Day Celebrated with Enthusiastic Rally Led by CM Manik Saha in Agartala


Agartala, 7 April 2025:
World Health Day was observed with great enthusiasm in Tripura on Monday, with a vibrant awareness rally organised in the capital city, Agartala. The event was spearheaded by the West District Health Department in collaboration with various medical colleges, educational institutions, and public health organisations.

Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha flagged off the rally from the premises of Rajbari, now home to the Tripura Government Museum. In his inaugural address, he emphasised the importance of preventive healthcare and said, “Precaution is better and preferred than the cure,” underlining the need to adopt a healthy lifestyle and regular health check-ups to avoid major illnesses.

The rally witnessed wide participation from institutions such as Tripura Institute of Paramedical Sciences (TIPS), other medical and nursing colleges, and numerous schools and colleges across the city. A special highlight was the inclusion of a cycling team, which drew attention to eco-friendly and healthy transportation alternatives.

NCC cadets, scouts, and students walked alongside healthcare professionals holding banners, posters, and placards with strong messages on hygiene, nutrition, mental health, and disease prevention. The rally moved through several parts of the city and concluded back at the starting point near the museum grounds.

The event aimed to raise awareness among the masses about maintaining a healthy lifestyle and making informed health choices. Officials from the health department, teachers, and public representatives joined hands to spread the message of "Health for All."

The rally concluded with a short felicitation programme, where all participants were appreciated for their contribution to the cause. The event marked a successful and spirited celebration of World Health Day in Tripura, inspiring citizens to prioritise their health and wellbeing.
