Kailashahar, May 9: In a heartwarming initiative blending recreation and culture, the Lions Club of Kailashahar today unveiled the ‘Lions Amusement Park’ for public enjoyment. The inauguration ceremony was held in the presence of Hon’ble Minister Tinku Roy, who also participated in the Rabindranath Tagore Jayanti celebrations organised on the same occasion. Addressing the gathering, Minister Roy expressed his deep appreciation for the dual initiative. “This project reflects a noble vision—creating a joyful space for all while honouring the legacy of a great poet-philosopher,” he said. He added that the amusement park would serve as a joyful retreat for children and families, while the tribute to Tagore would continue to inspire cultural awareness among the people.
The programme began with tributes to Kaviguru Rabindranath Tagore on his birth anniversary. Local students and cultural groups presented songs, recitations, and dance performances based on Tagore’s work, adding a graceful touch to the celebration. The entire venue radiated joy and cultural spirit, making the event memorable for attendees of all ages.
Minister Roy also lauded the Lions Club for their dedication to community enrichment and urged more organisations to take similar steps. He congratulated the organisers for seamlessly combining a fun-filled initiative with a culturally meaningful observance.
The day’s event was a unique celebration of creativity and community service, marking both the opening of the Lions Amusement Park and the reverent remembrance of Tagore’s timeless contributions. The initiative not only enriched Kailashahar’s social landscape but also reinforced the message of unity through culture and service.
